Sales Engineer

Our Whole-Slide Imaging Sales Engineers are responsible for direct sales to research pathology labs in the life sciences, pharmaceutical research, veterinary pathology, contract research pathology and related research and education oriented pathology labs.  This work includes arranging and conducting demos, identifying key researchers in relevant fields, prospecting for new customers/applications, lead follow-up, territory sales management, gathering and reporting marketing feedback on products and understanding the competitive landscape.  This position will earn a base salary in the range of $60 – 90K per year plus commission.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and highly interested in whole-slide imaging and all aspects of pathology-related research.  This is an excellent opportunity to gain an advanced understanding of whole-slide imaging and to interact with pathologists in research and education at all aspects complete solution implementation.

Required Education, Training and Experience;

  • Bachelors degree in science or engineering
  • 2 yrs sales exp. in a pathology related business
  • Ability to learn new technology and continuously update your knowledge
  • Understand the basic principles of light microscopy
  • 5 years selling instruments >$100k
  • Interpersonel skills
  • Advanced written, verbal & listening skills
  • Advanced customer relations skills.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience;

  • Experience with PACS or Laboratory information systems
  • Medical equipment sales
  • Masters or PhD in science or engineering
  • Experience in sales or marketing of pathology equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of IT architecture and terminology
